Health and Wellness Opportunity
When you get down to the nuts and bolts of the health and
wellness industry, it all boils down to credibility. In health
and wellness, research equals credibilty. Real
documented research in the form of true medical clinical
studies available via PubMed is vitally important.
Looking through this lense, Immunocal is without a doubt a
natural health world leader. The research is why it is the
natural health product
in drug edition of Physicians Desk Reference (PDR)in USA. The
research is why it is listed in 2009
Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties (CPS) in
Canada (MD's Drug Reference). As a result of this
research, Immunotec has 65 world wide method of use
patents for cancer treatment, aids treatment and the
treatment of chronic fatigue. Immunotec has just created
a website for patients, researchers and health care
professionals to explain Immunocal in detail
.
Dr Luc Montague is also
winner of 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine co-authored book:
Oxidative Stress in
Cancer, AIDS, and Neurodegenerative Diseases (Oxidative
Stress and Disease, 1) by
Luc Montagnier, Rene Olivier, and C. Pasquier (Hardcover -
Jan 15, 1998)
One whole chapter in this book discusses our
product Immunocal raising glutathione in the bodyand
also:
“Paper explored the
extremely rare glutathione promoting
components
in
Immunocal and noted the implications of cellular
glutathione depletion in
a number of degenerative conditions
and disease states including
Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, arteriosclerosis,
cataracts, cystic fibrosis, malnutrition, aging,
AIDS, and cancer.”
There's lots more. For instance, both Dr. Gustavo
Bounous and Dr Wulf Droge are on staff at Immunotec
A search on either one of
these men yields very impressive medical credentials
Both
these men are medical giants who have dedicated their lives to
real medical research.
This is all wonderful and true but how can
you and I benefit? Immunotec uses independent entrepreneurs to
spread the word about Immunocal and Immunotec via our own home
based business.
What is Health and
Wellness?
Health and
wellness is more than just simply the absence of disease.
It is a goal and a positive attitude towards your
own personal health. It's about prevention. The best way
to prevent many winter road accidents resulting in
intense and expensive medical care is using more
salt on the roads. It is proactive not reactive. Sickness
is what happens to you, wellness is something you seek
out. You don't volunteer to admitted to the health care
system but you do volunteer to be health and wellness
oriented. Health and wellness people are committed to
learning about their health and caring about what they
eat and how they spend their time. While they might catch
a movie and imitate a couch potato, they might also
preface the movie with a half hour walk or
run.
Much of what
we seek in wellness is available free: a walk in the
park, drinking plenty of water, maintaining a positive
attitude and caring about others. Unfortunately,
maintaining wellness is not all free. Commitment to
wellness can cost you extra such as buying organic food,
drinking filtered water, taking certain supplements, and
possibly buying equipment or memberships for your
favourite sports or activities.
To the non
health and wellness person who drinks and smokes, all
this health and wellness stuff is a waste of money. To
the health and wellness person, any time, effort or money
spent on improving their health is worth it. This
wellness thinking is having a real effect in the market
place.
According to
the Natural Marketing Institute
"Retail sales
of health and wellness consumer packaged goods reached
$102.8 billion in the U.S. last year, representing growth
of 15% over the previous
year, according to the Natural Marketing
Institute.The natural/organic personal care category
showed the largest growth over 2006, at 29% to $7.8
billion, followed by organic foods and beverages at 25%
to $19 billion and functional foods and beverages at 12%
to $38.6 billion. “Functional and fortified
foods/beverage continue to comprise the largest segment
within the health and wellness category," said
Maryellen Molyneaux, president of NMI, in a
statement."It represents more than one-third of
all industry sales. This category will continue to grow,
driven by consumers’ desire for increased management of
their health and more health options, and the high number
of new product introductions across food and beverages
that answer those needs.”
Different
strokes for different folks.

Health and Wellness Movement- A Brief
History
Dr. Halbert Dunn. As a founding father
of the “wellness movement”, Dr. Dunn referred to
the human body and its millions of cells as “organized
energy”. And his original book was a collection of 29 short
discussions on the key aspects of health and wellness. The
movement had started.
His original definition of health and
wellness was “an integrated method of functioning which is
oriented to maximizing the potential of which an individual is
capable, within the environment where he is
functioning.”
The term health and wellness for today’s
individual is still multifaceted - embracing health on every
level. By way of awareness and practice, wellness entails the
conscious development of the whole self.
The Berkeley Wellness Letter breaks the
Health and Wellness Movement down to 3 components:
1. Fitness
2. Nutrition
3. Longevity
Health and wellness continues to convey
different meanings to different people - depending on their
lifestyles, ailments, and health priorities. A definition
pulled from the dictionary suggests that “wellness is the
condition of good physical and mental health, especially when
maintained by proper diet and exercise.” This refers to the
state of your mind as well as your body - as the two are
interdependent.
If we dig deeper, we find that the
definition is shifting towards a trend; the “wellness movement”
that refers to the shift in people’s attitudes as a means to
healthy living.
This trend began a little over a decade
ago. A major cultural shift took place with respect to people’s
attitudes and behaviors towards their health and wellness.
Individuals adopted a pro-active approach in an effort to
sustain their health and maintain their state of wellness, by
way of a deliberate and conscious effort to prevent health
complications. They not only seek to cure existing health
ailments, they want to avert them altogether. More individuals
today adhere to a lifestyle that is associated with the
maintenance of good health. They want a better quality of life;
in essence, they want to feel better, look better, and live
longer… total wellness!
So while this and most other “modern”
definitions include health for the body and mind; it is equally
important to note the intertwining of the two. The literature
strongly emphasizes this holistic approach; meaning that if
health is lacking in one, the other suffers, and so does
overall wellness.
This shift in attitude has not only
captured the attention of individuals, but many healthcare
professionals as well, as they too have adopted a holistic
approach. They no longer treat a disease or illness in
isolation, but treat the person and consider all factors that
contribute to a patient’s health.
